Project details:
Overlooking a sunken garden in the church yard of St John Zachary at the corner of Gresham and Noble Streets London this prominent office block is home to the headquarters of Lloyds-TSB.
The entrance hall stretches across the south front of the building and is clad in frameless glass. Transparency is achieved due to the building being cantilevered and suspended from the main structure with ties.
Daver Steels supplied 4 number 170mm diameter high strength tendons each 30m long from pin to pin.
Each tendon weighed approximately 6 tonnes and had a design load capacity of 3,649kN. All were delivered to site pre-assembled and with a shot blast and primed finish.
