Project details:
A spectacular tension structure canopy - housing the Dynamic Earth Project, a Millennium Commission exhibiting the natural and physical forces on planet earth.
Long bar tendons were supplied in M24, M30, M36, M42 & M48 diameters. The bars were detailed with a very high paint specification, with differing sectors painted in various final colours. The tendons were supplied as plugged components, allocated and identified by sector for painting. The bar threads are tape protected for painting. Painting and final tendon assembly was by the steelwork contractor.
