The new Masalani Bridge has provided a vital link to some 47,000 residents of Tana River District, eastern Kenya, who are regularly cut off by heavy rains that cause flooding in the western and eastern parts of the country.

Dorman Long Technology were responsible for the detailed design of erection engineering, all temporary works and cable system for this self anchored suspension bridge with a main span of 92.3m. Daver Steels supplied the M42 galvanised hangers that are suspended from the main cables supplied by Bridon International. The bridge was completed by a local contractor in May 2007.
